Bookmarks and Betas

First of all – all the bookmarks asked for have been sent. I don’t know how long it will take to get to you, but at least now you know they are in the mail—no joke meant. If anyone decides they want more, shoot me an email and I’ll see what I can do for you. Remember, I’ll send one for you and two to give away to friends. We both win.

For all who answered my call for betas—I’ve finally finished White Light. I’m putting it away for a bit, because I’m in too deep.  I never put everything I know about each character, or plot point into the project. Some information just floats in the back of my mind. It’s to be referred to just like the research I do to keep it 2536559real.

Here’s the problem. I think what I’m reading is clear, but I have all the information. I’m counting on forgetting some of this background, and hoping to find holes, confusion, and possibly repetitiveness that I can edit myself. It makes it easier on the beta readers. Leaving them to give feedback which  I can easily incorporate, making the story that much better.  I’ll be reaching out to my volunteers—soon.

I’m so excited. Thank you everyone, for your support. How are you doing with your writing? Any suggestions for the next stage?

  1. I love this post. My writing is going well and if you are ever open to swap in the future or need extra eyes, I am open too. Hugs. Erika

  2. Got my bookmarks!! Thank You! Thank You! I plan on offering two for a giveaway along with my review. As soon as I get my hands on One More Day! Can’t wait!
    Have a sunny Sunday:)

  3. Sometimes stepping back and allowing things to settle really works. I write my reviews and then set them aside and read them with fresh eyes a week later and tweak them when they don’t flow well, or I’ve said too much. Good luck and bookmarks?

    • Bookmark? Yes, I offered to giveaway some On More Day bookmarks. If you want some let me know.

My goal is to make it as good as possible for my beta readers. It’s the least I can do. 🙂

  4. I agree with Kim, I can’t even imagine how hard it must be to know everything and still try to make sure your readers know as well (when you want them to know).

  5. Wow, you are really working hard. Stepping a way for a few days or weeks always helps me find more problems with my work when I go back over it.

If you're new to writing, ask me anything and if you're experienced, feel free to share what you know. Learning something new in the craft is always welcome.
