Hi everyone. Let me introduce Lidy. A friend. A blogger. And a poet.

Take it away…

Thanks for having me today Emaginette!

What flow do I tap into?

Sometimes it’s the flow of a beat. The flow of a bird song. Or the flow from the cycle of life. All these I tap into.

But to put it as basic as I can, I tap into myself. What makes my nerves hum and thrum. What makes me feel alive and excited. What makes me laugh or cry. Concerned and disillusioned. I tap into the flow of music, books, current events, personal thoughts and feelings. And lose myself in the flow of words inspired by the world around me.

Poetry is subjective yet so is the world we live in. But through a poem, emotional connections are built. Regardless the flow of time and space. Like how the poem Invictus helped Nelson Mandela persevere while imprisoned for 27 years. I too hope to tap into and find the right flow of words that’ll become the shining light in the darkness. Words that show that you are not alone. That you are understood.

    • Thank you Heather. Finding the rightwords isn’t always easy. But what makes it worthwhile is knowing when, after searching and testing, you’ve discovered the word that grabs and throttles. Pique your senses and spark memories. The proof that your search was not in vain.
