Putting Emaginette Back In My Blog Title

A while back I changed my blogs name from Shout With Emaginette to Elements of Writing. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I was posting more and more posts about what I learned as a writer and I was doing less and less shouting out.

Big mistake. Friggin huge mistake.

I don’t know about you but I Google myself once in a while. In the world, there are several Anna Simpson’s–two different actresses, an editor, a UK farmer, a computer genius, a beauty queen, and a lawyer. I was lost in a pretty big crowd.

That was why I chose the handle of emaginette. To stand out from the crowd. To become a one-and-only in a world of billions.

Well, I sabotaged my branding, by getting rid of my one-and-only handle.

So learning from my mistake and rolling with the punch, my blog’s new name is elements of emaginette. It turns out it is closer to what this blog is about–my bits and pieces.

So what do you think is it finally me?leopard-307200_1280

  1. I like the alliteration. Branding is such a hard thing for me to wrap my head around.

  2. I think it is great. Well done.

  4. I never stopped thinking of you as Emaginette. Also, I like the alliteration in your blog title now. Good move!

  5. I do like it…it makes me think of the multifaceted person who you are 😊

  6. I like it! I like all the “e”‘s. 🙂

  7. That branding stuff is tricky. I added my name to my writer blog because everyone recommended it. I have no idea if it helped. Googling my name, I come up a lot but mostly for my techie blog. Luckily, this one is on the first page!

  8. “Elements” adds a touch of the unique, so I’d say it’s perfect. I found a Lee McKenzie out there in cyberland who’s a stripper. My husband said there’d be no confusing us. 🙂

  9. Elements of Emaginette has a nice ring to it. 🙂

  10. I like it! You’ll always be Emaginette to me:)

  11. I think unique is good. I like it.

Yeah, you gotta have that unique name. I think it’s great

  13. I like Emaginette, you, but the handle too! I wonder since your book is written by Anna Simpson if you should somehow incorporate your author name in the title so when people google anna simpson, elements of emaginette will show up. Perhaps add a photo of you and your bio to the sidebar as Anna Simpson? Or an about me page with a few bios and contact info. Maybe a blog post explaining your author name and that you really are Emaginette and Anna Simpson. Tag each post with Author Anna Simpson. Just a few ideas to get people to connect the author name and the branding name.

  14. Agree, that branding is key! Use what’s memorable. I do think using your author name is a good idea, and then maybe the rest as a tag line. I’m new at this though.

  15. Truthfully? I just look for your picture. (Guess that means I’m a visual person.) If only you could publish under the name of Emaginette, eh? 😉

  16. I like it a lot. I see you as both Anna Simpson and Emaginette.

  17. I like it!!! I do often wonder about writers who have common names. Jen Malone is a writer friend of mine and when you search for her, actress Jena Malone comes up all over the place. I’m the only Stephanie Faris…my married name is Berry and if I’d used that, I would have probably been one-upped by an actress named Stephanie Berry! So I guess having a last name with an uncommon spelling all my life (normally it’s Farris, not Faris) helped me in this case!

  18. I found you today by googling Anna at Emaginette!
